Pura Vida Mission Trip
Well, Jessie and I arrived home safely after a great trip to Costa Rica with Pura Vida Missions. A large group came from Beach United Methodist Church, about 25 people. Jessie lead a VBS team, and over the course of 5 days, lead 10 Vacation Bible schools with as many as 100 kids. I lead a construction team that laid concrete floors into homes in a poor neighborhood where the people were living on dirt (see the videos below for tours), when all was said and done, we laid 7 floors down, and got pretty sunburned doing so. Overall, we had a great trip:
We saw an active volcano (arenal)
We went to relaxing hot springs
We rode zip lines through the rainforest
We saw a beautiful waterfall (las musas)
We hiked through the rainforest to a river
We went to a rodeo
God was glorified through the work that we did!
I've added pics through the link to the side labeled "My Sweet Pics" and there are 8 videos below, you may have to look through the archives for April of 2007 to see all of them.
